3 Potential Peritoneal Mesothelioma Symptoms

Mesothelioma cancer is one of the less common types of cancer affecting around 2k people in the UK each year. It grows when the linings of the lungs or perhaps the belly learn to grow in an instant and uncontrollable way. This disorder is almost always brought on by exposure to the insulation and for that reason it is often nicknamed asbestos cancers.

If it influences the lining of the belly (the peritoneum) it is referred to as peritoneal mesothelioma. In this article I will be teaching three potential symptoms for this form of cancer and discussing things you should take if you notice some of these.

The peritoneum (lining of the abdomen) actually has two layers; the inner (visceral) layer which is near the abs organs and the external (parietal) layer which is next to the abs wall. One of the functions of the peritoneum is to secrete a lubricating fluid to allow the abs organs to move against one another.

1) ASCITES: - As the internal and surface layers of the peritoneum become wider, lubricating fluid could become caught in this area. This kind of can then lead to a build up of fluid which is known to as ascites. Ascites can lead to bloating in the abdomen and also cause belly pain as the build up of fluid causes the peritoneum to press against the belly organs.

2) ABDOMINAL PAIN: - Since peritoneal mesothelioma develops and the tumour increases in size it can commence to press against the belly organs. This often triggers belly pain and distress. As discussed above ascites (another peritoneal mesothelioma symptom) can also lead to belly pain.

3) NEGATIVE BOWEL FUNCTIONING: - Since the tumour increases in size or the ascites cause further swelling the intestines can become obstructed. This can make it difficult to excrete waste materials from the body and also lead to further bowel problems.

If you notice any symptoms just like those discussed above you should talk to your doctor immediately. Upon seeing your doctor you should notify them of the symptoms you have experienced and also tell them if you have previously recently been in contact with the insulation.

Once your doctor has this info they will be able to perform the mandatory tests and determine whether you have peritoneal mesothelioma cancer. Following this they can then discuss the relevant treatment options with you if possible.

Mesothelioma is one of the rarest types of cancer. In most cases these symptoms will turn out to be something a smaller amount serious. Even so, by seeing your doctor you can get a professional view on whether you have mesothelioma or not. In case you have had consistent abs pains, your belly has become swollen or you have had regular bowel problems go see your doctor immediately.

While every intention has recently been made to make this article accurate and educational, it is intended for general information only.

Mesothelioma cancer is a very serious, life threatening condition and you should discuss any concerns, treatments or lifestyle changes fully with a medical expert.
